2024 SANTACON START LOCATION
Get ready to HO-HO-HO in the San-ta Fernando Valley
Happy HOlidays to all the naughty Santas! We still love you if you’re a nice Santa, too. It’s finally time to reveal the start location! Santa is very excited because we’ll be starting in a part of town we’ve never brought the Santarchy to, the San-ta Fernando Valley.
START LOCATION
Kalaveras in North Hollywood at 5300 Lankershim Blvd, North Hollywood, CA 91601. We’ll be kicking off the Santarchy at 11:30 AM. Bring your singing voices because we have a fun activity planned to kick off our day.
WHAT TO BRING
Santa has some new reindeer games planned so be sure to wear comfy clothes and athletic shoes if you want to get in on the action.
If you’re a Santa skateboarder we encourage you to bring your board! There will be opportunity to shred on the route.
We encourage you to get creative with bits, gifts for other Santas, pranks, and artistic expression! Just like the early days of the San Francisco Cacophony Society tomfoolery. Santa is taking back Christmas!
We will be doing a Dear Santa Letter exchange. Write a letter to Santa telling him if you’ve been naughty or nice, and why you deserve a present. We’ll collect the letters and distribute them to different Santas at the event. We’ll have supplies if you forget!
Warm clothes! Yes, Santa is probably used to the frigid temperatures of the North Pole, but the forecast is showing some cold temperatures.
HOW TO FOLLOW THE RED TIDE
The long standing tradition is to announce the next location shortly before we leave the current location we’re visiting. You can follow along on the FACEBOOK INVITE, PARTIFUL invite for text message updates, and Twitter (@la_santacon) if you’re still using that dumpster fire. Power in numbers is the key to bringing the surreal interactive Santarchy experiences so make sure to stay together.
SANTA LICENSE ID CARDS
The bureaucrats at the Bureau of Kringle Regulation are still accepting submissions to get a Santa ID card for the tenth year in a row. Just fill out THIS FORM (no login required) and you can pick up your ID card, and a few other goodies, at the event. Santa is requesting a $5 donation to cover the cost of materials. You can DONATE HERE. If funds are tight, Santa will still take care of you if you submit without donation. As a reminder, a Santa ID is NOT required to attend the event. These are fun, artistic mementoes offered every year. You can read about their HISTORY HERE.
HELPFUL TIPS
PACE YOURSELF we’re doing a longer route than you may be used to and Santa wants to make sure you make it to the end in one piece.
It’s a Metro year so we encourage you to purchase your TAP card or use the app.
All locations do not allow Santa to bring in alcohol. Some will be very strict.. Please be prepared for locations to potentially check your bag. If you decide to bring some Christmas libations be discreet!
Bring cash! It will save you time waiting in line to close your tab.
Dress your best but consider being comfy so you can play reindeers games.
Be a jolly good Santa, not a jerk! Pay your bill, don’t vandalize, and lookout for your fellow Santa.
We will HO rain or shine.
Remember, if anyone asks the answer is SANTA! Everyone is Santa. You have no idea who’s in charge, you just showed up in a red suit.
